It's Christmas time and things are getting crazy in the stores, on the roads, etc. I've come to realize that embracing (instead of dreading) the holidays actually works great for me. I don't get stressed out or anxious about it, I just get involved and focus on enjoying the decorations, the food, the people and especially the time off of work. So far I've done 100% of my holiday shopping online, which is awesome. I'm not a fan of the hustle and bustle and straight up sparring in the stores during the season. There's nothing in any store that I am willing to fight for, I know that.
Since my last post, lots has happened in my life. My kids are getting older, as they do. My son moved out for a while and now he's back home and has a new job. My middle girl is officially a teenager and has been to NJ a couple of times and the last time she flew by herself (yikes). My little turned 4 and we had a princess pool party which was big fun. I started kickboxing, cooking more often and eating mostly whole, organic foods and trying to be more active and healthy all around. Kevin is now watching a lot of TV...wait a minute, he's ALWAYS done that! Well, he's watching even MORE TV now, I think.
Honestly, I think most of the changes have taken place within me; I've learned so much about myself this past year. For instance, I'm convinced a career change is on the horizon and I'm excited and a little nervous about that realization. Turning 40s (I'm 41 now) has definitely changed things on the inside and also for sure on the outside. I'm trying to figure out how to listen to my body and do what it tells me to do. This is harder than it sounds. Especially since I've spent most of my life until now ignoring and even sometimes hating my body. I'm learning to love it, in whatever shape it's in and for me, that's a process. This year has been full of information. I've never read so much, researched, or tried so many new things in one year before and now I'm just trying to sort it all out and decide what works for ME. I'll share everything I've learned here, so if you're interested you can follow along and maybe learn something from my experiences and try something new!
Here's some pics from the past year, since it's been so long :) Enjoy!
